Achievements in Recent Years
Promotion and Technology Development of Upland Pipeline Irrigation

In recent years, droughts and floods frequently occurred in Taiwan area. Therefore, it is advisable to alleviate the difficult situations encountered by various water use purposes, so as to enable the sustainable use of soil and water resources in Taiwan. The Engineering division coordinates with the COA, through all the irrigation associations and farmers associations of offshore islands, has provided guidance for farmers on construction of pipeline irrigation systems. To the end of 2017, the promotion results are about 70,000 farmers and about 52,000 hectares. The aims are to effectively upgrade the water resources use efficiencies; and meanwhile promote the competitiveness of agricultural products and increase farmers’ incomes.
